SPECIAL WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR THE LENTEN SEASON
Starting today (April 10) until Maundy Thursday (April 13), warm and dry weather conditions associated with sunny weather will prevail over the entire archipelago, with chances of some isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the Ridge of High Pressure Area (HPA) and Easterlies.
On Good Friday (April 14) until Easter Sunday (April 16), Mindanao, Eastern and Central Visayas, Bicol region and the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. This is due to the effect of possible formation of a Tropical Cyclone East of Mindanao which is estimated to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday or Thursday. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and of Visayas will continue to have warm and dry weather conditions with chances of some isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to occasionally moderate starting today until Maundy Thursday. However, over the weekend (Good Friday to Easter Sunday), the public is advised to be alerted against big waves generated by moderate to occasionally strong winds over Visayas, Bicol Region, and Surigao provinces. Sea travel is risky over these areas.
This outlook will be updated as soon as significant changes in the weather pattern occur.
