WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK

SEPTEMBER 22 - 29, 2017

TODAY (SEPT 22), A LOW PRESSURE AREA (LPA) IS INFLUENCING THE WEATHER ACROSS VISAYAS AND MINDANAO. CLOUDY SKIES WITH MODERATE TO OCASSIONALLY HEAVY RAINS DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE EXPERIENCED OVER THE SAMAR PROVINCES, WESTERN VISAYAS AND NORTHERN PALAWAN. MEANWHILE, LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINSHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL PREVAIL OVER BICOL REGION, MINDANAO AND THE REST OF VISAYAS. METRO MANILA AND THE REST OF LUZON WILL EXPERIENCE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

ON SATURDAY (SEPT 23), THE LPA IS EXPECTED TO CROSS LUZON BRINGING CLOUDY SKIES WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINS AND OCCASIONAL HEAVY RAINS DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS OVER METRO MANILA, SOUTHERN LUZON AND VISAYAS BECOMING FREQUENT OVER ITS WESTERN SECTIONS AND NORTHERN QUEZON. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL EXPERIENCE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THE WEATHER CONDITION WILL IMPROVE BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON (SEPT 24) WITH LOCALISED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

ON MONDAY (SEPT 25), ANOTHER LPA IS EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE EASTERN SECTIONS OF VISAYAS AND MINDANAO. THUS, EASTERN VISAYAS, CARAGA AND DAVAO PROVINCES WILL EXPERIENCE SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL HAVE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. BY TUESDAY (SEPT 26), SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL PREVAIL OVER THE VISAYAS, BICOL REGION AND THE EASTERN SECTION OF LUZON. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE AFFECTED BY LOCALISED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES.

BY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY (SEPT 27 & 28), THE LPA IS EXPECTED TOCROSS THE VISAYAS AND WILL BRING CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHERN LUZON, VISAYAS AND THE EASTERN SECTIONS OF NORTHERN AND CENTRAL LUZON. THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL BE AFFECTED BY LOCALISED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY SKIES. THE LPA IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN AND DISSIPATE BY FRIDAY (SEPT 29). HENCE, THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WILL BE PARTLY CLOUDY TO CLOUDY WITH LOCALIZED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

NO TROPICAL CYCLONE IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OR ENTER THE PHILIPPINE AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (PAR) WITHIN THE FORECAST PERIOD. HOWEVER, THIS OUTLOOK WILL BE UPDATED AS SOON AS SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE WEATHER PATTERN OCCUR.
