Optimization of the Operational Capabilities of Hydro-Met Sensors for Flood Warning Capabilities and Application to Research
(Optimization Project)


As PAGASA adopts the network of hydro-meteorological sensors installed under the Hybrid, Hydromet and DEWS Projects, the agency will implement this project to enhance the sensors’ operational capabilities with respect to the standards set by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

In line with this, our team is in need of the following with their respective activities:

I. Eighteen (18) Science Research Specialist I
• Design and networking of hydro-meteorological stations (Tabletop Analysis)
• Surveying (Hydrographic, Levelling, GNSS FastStatic)
• River cross-sectioning and Discharge Measurements
• Maintenance activities related to the hydro-met instruments
• Conduct of Information, Education, and Communication Campaigns (IECs) and Flood Drills
• Performing data collection, processing, analysis, and presentation using computer-aided software
• Assisting in the coordination with other agencies and institutions especially where the said work will be integrated
• Assisting to day-to-day activities in the office including participation in discussions, meetings, coordination, and technical reviews pertaining to the project activities

Required Education and Experience
• Graduate of Engineering courses or other related courses
• Working experience/s in projects is/are preferred



II. Four (4) Project Assistant III
• Conduct of Information, Education, and Communication Campaigns (IECs) and Flood Drills
• Performing data collection, processing, analysis, and presentation using computer aided software
• Assisting in the coordination with other agencies and institutions especially where the said work will be integrated
• Assisting to day-to-day activities in the office including participation in discussions, meetings, coordination, and technical reviews pertaining to the project activities

Required Education and Experience
• Graduate of any four (4) year course
• Working experience/s in projects is/are preferred



III. One (1) Science Research Assistant
• Conduct of Information, Education, and Communication Campaigns (IECs) and Flood Drills
• Performing data collection, processing, analysis, and presentation using computer aided software
• Assisting in the coordination with other agencies and institutions especially where the said work will be integrated
• Assisting to day-to-day activities in the office including participation in discussions, meetings, coordination, and technical reviews pertaining to the project activities

Required Education and Experience
• Graduate of Accountancy, Finance, or other related courses
• Working experience/s in projects is/are preferred



Occupational Competencies for all positions:
• Computer Literate
• Good oral and writing skills
• Excellent organization and management skills
• Must be willing to be assigned to any part within the country for fieldworks
• Must be a good team player
