Two (2) SCIENCE RESEARCH SPECIALISTs

Work Location: HTMIRDS – RDTD

Position Summary:
HTMIRDS-RDTD has an immediate need for 3 Research Assistants, full time positions, to support the DFAT-UNDP-CCC “Project Climate Twin Phoenix – Resilience and Preparedness towards Inclusive Development (PCTP-RAPID) project.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. PROJECT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER III
• Educational Attainment: Master’s Degree preferably in Natural Sciences
• Ability to conduct research studies
• Already wrote/published research studies
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Strong initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Background / Knowledge on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
• Background / Experience in computer programming (preferably Python Programming Language)
• Background / Experience in database management (Visual Studio, MYSQL, etc.)
• Background / Experience in Geographic Information System (i.e. ArcGIS or QGIS)
• Good oral and written communication skills especially in conveying technical information
• Wide range of computer skills. Must be skilled in the use of computer spreadsheet and/or database applications in the compilation of research data
• Familiarity with computing platforms such as but not limited to Windows and Linux
Monthly salary: Project-based, P 45,702.00

2. SCIENCE RESEARCH SPECIALIST
• Educational Attainment: Bachelor’s/ College Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields
• Background / Experience in computer programming (preferably Python and R Programming Language)
• Background / Experience in database management (Visual Studio, MYSQL, etc.)
• Background / Experience in Geographic Information System (i.e. ArcGIS or QGIS)
• Good oral and written communication skills especially in conveying technical information
• Ability to conduct research studies
• Strong initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Good interpersonal skills
Monthly salary: Project-based, P 29, 068.80

Contract of Employment: 6 Months
