Philippine Agri-Weather Forecast

The weather systems that will likely affect the whole country are the trough of tropical cyclone “Hagibis” outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), low pressure area (LPA), northeasterly windflow, easterlies and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

During the start of the dekad, the regions of CARAGA, Davao and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while the rest of the archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rainshowers. After this, Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon will have cloudiness with rainshowers and thunderstorms throughout the rest of the dekad. The rest of the country will have better weather condition with possible occurrences of isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening.

During the early days of the dekad, northeasterly wind flow will prevail over Northern Luzon while Visayas and the rest of Luzon will have winds from the northeast to northwest. Mindanao will experience winds coming from the northwest to west. As Northern Luzon continues to have winds blowing from the northeast, the rest of the country will have winds from the northeast to east throughout the rest of the dekad.

During the early days of the forecast period, the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon will have moderate to rough seas while the rest of the archipelago will experience slight to moderate coastal waters. However, the northern and central Luzon will start to experience moderate to rough seas during the latter part of the first half of the dekad. The remaining areas of the country will have slight to moderate movement of seas. This condition will continue throughout the end of the dekad.

ENSO-neutral condition is present in the tropical Pacific.
