WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK

 

TODAY UNTIL TUESDAY (OCTOBER 12-16), THE FRONTAL SYSTEM NORTH OF THE COUNTRY IS ORIENTED NORTH-NORTHEAST TO WEST-SOUTHWEST ACROSS EAST OF JAPAN. RUNNING DOWN ACROSS TAIWAN AND TO ITS SOUTHERN WATERS UP TO SOUTHERN COAST OF SOUTH EAST CHINA, THE SYSTEM WILL BRING SLIGHTLY COOL LIGHT TO MODERATE NORTHEASTERY WINDS FOR 3-4 DAYS OVER BASHI-BALINTANG CHANNELS INCLUDING EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON. THE EASTERLY WIND FLOW WILL BE EXPERIENCED OVER THE  REST OF LUZON AND VISAYAS WHILE VARIABLE WINDS OVER MINDANAO UNTIL THE WEEKEND. MEANWHILE, THE INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE CONTINUES TO PERSIST SHIFTING TOWARDS THE SOUTH OF MINDANAO AND IS EXPECTED TO OSCILLATE ACROSS VISAYAS-MINDANAO AREA IN THE FOLLOWING DAYS.

 

PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH LIGHT RAINS WILL BE EXPERIENCED OVER EXTREME NORTHERN LUZON, WHILE SUNNY DURING THE DAY THEN GETTING PARTLY CLOUDY TO SOMETIMES CLOUDY IN THE AFTERNOON WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOSTLY IN THE AFTERNOON OR EVENING, PARTICULARLY ALONG THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTRY. BY NIGHTTIME OF TUESDAY, EMBEDDED IN THE INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE IS   A POSSIBLE BROAD AND WEAK LOW-PRESSURE AREA SOME 1,230 KM EAST OF VISAYAS (12.5 N 136.5 E). THIS IS NOT EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE COUNTRY BUT COULD ESTABLISH THE INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE FOR DAYS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

 

ON WEDNESDAY UNTIL FRIDAY (OCTOBER 17-19), THE INTERTROPICAL CONVERGENCE ZONE WILL LIKELY BRING PARTLY CLOUDY TO SOMETIMES CLOUDY SKIES WITH SCATTERED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER VISAYAS AND MINDANAO, WHILE METRO MANILA AND THE REST OF LUZON WILL BE CLEAR TO PARTLY CLOUDY WITH ISOLATED RAINSHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

 

THIS WILL BE UPDATED AS SOON AS ANY SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN THE WEATHER PATTERN OCCUR.
