SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 PM today, the center of Typhoon "PERLA" {NEOGURI} was estimated based on all available data at 890 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes or 1,405 km North Northeast of Legazpi City, Albay (24.7N, 129.3E) with maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h. It is moving Northeast at 30 km/h. Northeasterly surface windflow prevailing over Luzon.

MAGIGING KAMUGTAKAN: Bahagyang mapanganuron sundo sa mapanganuron na kalangitan na may pulo-pulong pag-uran o pagkikilat-pagdaguldol an nilalaoman sa Kabikulan, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon asin Northern Samar. Moderato sundo sa makusog na duros haling sa Norte-sirangan an mairal na may moderato sundo sa maalon na kadagatan.

PAGTAYA: Bahagyang maulap hanggang sa maulap na kalangitan na may pulo-pulong pag-ulan o pagkidlat-pagkulog ang inaasahan sa Kabikulan, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon at Northern Samar. Katamtaman hanggang sa malakas na hangin mula sa Hilagang-silangan ang iiral na may katamtaman hanggang sa maalon na karagatan.

ONSET OF THE NORTHEAST MONSOON
26 October 2018

For the past several days, strong to gale force northeasterly winds has prevailed over the seaboards of Northern Luzon. Moreover, gradual cooling of surface air temperature over Northern Luzon has been observed. These meteorological conditions signify that the onset of the Northeast Monsoon season has started.

With these developments, the northeast wind flow is expected to further intensify and become dominant over most parts of the country, bringing cold and dry air. Surges of cold temperatures may also be expected in the coming days.
